The Atlantic City Boardwalk turned green on Saturday March 11. The 31st annual St Patrick’s Day Parade kicked off an afternoon of frigid, and very early celebration along the beaches of Atlantic City.

The parade began at 1 PM just north of Garden Pier, ending at Albany Avenue, home of the future Stockton University.

The first Saint Patrick’s Day parade in Atlantic City was held in 1986, organized by Al McMahon, who was the owner of the Circle Tavern in Brigantine and Joe Shields, a bartender who worked at the Surfside in Margate.
