Atlantic City Casinos Fearful of Smartly Run TEN

During it short life span, the REVEL Casino Resort was poorly run & marketed. But, it’s quick 2 years of business showed massive potential.

Casino competition in Atlantic City is shi**ing a brick. If run properly, TEN could put a nice dent into Borgata, Tropicana and Caesars. The new TEN will also light a fire under everybody’s ass, making everybody work harder. What’s wrong with that?

TEN. An amazing structure located in a prime, non-claustrophobic part of town. Lot’s of open space down in that neighborhood too. A new Boardwalk out front increases the likelihood that REVEL’s new operator and new name/brand – TEN – will be a substantial success.

TEN competition like Borgata (under-accessed by $850 million), the bankrupt Caesars & Harrahs, and the Tropicana / TAJ crew have to be nervous about the planned 1st quarter 2017 re-opening of REVEL / TEN. Unless of course….more roadblocks & red tape can magically appear.

Most early visitors to TEN will come from those lured from favorites. Borgata & Trop diehards will be sure to at least sample the new place. Some, if not more… will get hooked, like I did three years ago when REVEL was humming.

For the past two years, Straub and the closed REVEL had every roadblock thrown at it. God forbid somebody try to help this guy open the joint. The City, CRDA, different agencies, and indirectly other casinos, effectively kept the REVEL business shuttered. Hundreds of jobs indefinitely sidelined. Nice.

Radio and newspaper ‘journalists’ enjoyed mocking Straub on a daily basis. Many still do. Even the Mayor of Atlantic City looks down on Straub, a much needed CASH-READY outside investor ready to put shovels in the ground.

Let’s hope TEN will be able to openly purchase / bid…for Garden Pier ..in front of TEN. From what we understand, the murky contracting of Garden Pier to Bart Blatstein has thankfully not been consummated. We think vulture-investor Blatstein should make Playground and Showboat a success first….before buying / holding more valuable AC parcels at fire sale prices.

TEN will be the anchor for the renewal of Atlantic City’s Lighthouse and Inlet District.
