New Parking Meters in Atlantic City Pay Off in First Weekend

New parking meters in Atlantic City pulled in $15,000 in just one weekend. That was some welcome news from the Director of Licensing and Inspections for Atlantic City; Dale Finch.

“90% of the new parking meters are installed and operational” says Finch. A mobile app where you can feed the meter should be hooked up by next week.

Well over 1,000 meters have been installed throughout the city. An ordinance will be introduced at next City Council meeting to add more meters in the beach block of Indiana Ave., MLK and California Avenue west side. The city is also looking at Maine Ave. beach block.

The parking enforcement staff will be retrained and re-enforced. Currently, there are 9 staff members. New uniforms and vehicles to patrol the meters will be recommended to council.
