AC Mayor & Blatstein to Unveil Plan for Pier Shops at Caesars

Drum roll please. Dramatic plans will be revealed on Tues Feb 24 regarding the Pier Shops at Caesars. Tower Investments, led by founder and CEO Bart Blatstein, will be joined by Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian and other local leaders. ACPrimetime will be there too. This Atlantic City Boardwalk project should spur a flurry of new investor interest & development.

Blatstein will unveil his plans at the press conference scheduled for Feb 24 at noon.

Built in 2006, the Pier Shops is a four-story retail and dining space that hovers over the beach & ocean. Stunning & panoramic views of the beach and boardwalk….but The Pier Shops at Caesars still stumbled, thanks in part to the recent casino chaos.

The site was once known as ‘Million Dollar Pier’ which opened in 1905. It was a half-mile-long complex that housed a theater and a ballroom. Amusements were the main attraction in the 1970s. A fire in 1981 put the pier out of it’s misery. A short comeback was staged with a boat shaped ‘Shops at Ocean One’ being launched and shuttered in just a few years.

At one time worth $200 million, Blatstein & Tower Investments scooped up The Pier Shops in 2014 with money they found behind the cushions of their sofa: $2.7 million.

The Pier Shops at Caesar’s is just the first of Blatstein’s several planned projects in AC. This project is something tourism officials and civic leaders believe will add to the economic revival of America’s most famous playground.

Blatstein is a Philadelphia-based real estate development firm known for its innovative, transformational urban revitalization projects, like The Piazza at Schmidts
