Back in Dec of 1989, Kaleem Shabazz and other Atlantic City officials were among 11 people under indictment in a broad corruption probe.

Shabazz was chairman of the Atlantic City zoning board at the time.

Speaking of Zoning Boards, BLM activist Steve Young is STILL a board member there, even though Mayor Marty Small has tried to boot him several times.

Influence peddling, bribery, racketeering, conspiracy and official misconduct.

Grand Jury Indicts 11 in Atlantic City Corruption Case

Among those indicted were City Council President Walter Collette, Councilman Gene Dorn and Zoning Board Chairman Kaleem Shabazz, all accused of accepting bribes to use their positions to obtain zoning breaks and other benefits for private businesses.

Kaleem Shabazz, chairman of the Atlantic City zoning board was indicted, arrested on corruption charges on July 27, 1989.

AC Mayor Usry was arrested as well. The sweep occurred after an eight-month investigation.

Authorities suspect bribes were accepted in exchange for influencing a zoning variance that would enable so meone operate a car wash.

Dorn was accused in the indictment of taking a $7,500 cash bribe to obtain a zoning variance for a gas station.

Dorn and Wolf were also charged with soliciting and accepting $3,500 in bribes for influencing a gift shop concession at Atlantic City International Airport.

Shabazz most recently made news when the 3rd ward councilman singlehandedly spearheaded effort to tear down statue of Christopher Columbus at entrance to Atlantic City. Italian community was not invited to a planned town hall that never happened.

    ongoing corruption and incompetence … !!! ….. which no one can stop …!!!
    People need to go to jail …. !!! ….. or …. at the very least be removed from office …!!!
    I have just been made aware ….. thanks to the Trump National Election….. and Craig Callawy ..!!
    there is much corruption in the voting system …!!!!
    BUT …!!! …What agency ….!!! ….. or …. WHO …….HAS THE COURAGE AND KNOWLEDGE TO
    REMEDY THIS SITUATION…!!!
    This is why people MOVE …!!! …… plus ….. nowadays …. everybody throws the race card …!!!!

    1. I agree with you John Olive, i was employed at 1333 Atlantic Ave. I was a 20 yr employee , due to a medical issue that was caused by the job . They disregard the doctor’s note told me I had to return to work. I didn’t go back I was sick. So now I’m out of a 20 yr job position. I’ve been gone for 3 yrs now. Who can you go to for help? No one stop the people at the top. They know they can get away with doing these type of things cause they’re in charge. There’s a special place in Hell for them. It’s sad.
