NJ Gov. Murphy says he’ll loosen the reigns a bit on AC’s take-over. A slight relaxation of the state control that started in Nov of 2016.

Atlantic City Mayor, Frank Gilliam, refers to the take-over as a ‘plantation mentality.’

Jeff Chiesa will soon exit as the State designee. But the NJ Department of Community Affairs will still have a much-needed, firm grip on the city.

Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver, the commissioner of DCA, will still be the adult in the room for the foreseeable future. Even the Press of AC agrees with the continued need for State supervision of AC.
