Atlantic County Executive Levinson’s Track Record

Letter to the editor: I read with great interest the story about Dennis Levinson’s challenger for Atlantic County Executive stating that he would streamline county government. What does he think Mr. Levinson has been doing for the past 15 years?

Mr. Levinson, through privatization, consolidation and elimination, has been streamlining county government. Here are a few examples:

The cleaning of nine county libraries, privatized. The department of RISC (Risk, Insurance, Safety and Claims) privatized. The youth shelter, privatized. The Family Success Center, privatized.

General maintenance of county buildings, all privatized. The elimination of the Consumer Affairs Department. The elimination of the Medical Examiner’s Office. The consolidation of districts within the Department of Public Works.

Through privatization, consolidation and elimination, Mr. Levinson has drastically reduced the number of county employees.

Mr. Levinson’s record speaks for itself.
