Boutique Style Casinos Could Pop Up In Atlantic City

The Chelsea Atlantic City
Boutique Casino on the Way?

The NJ Senate OK’d a bill on June 25 that will hopefully attract smaller, boutique-style casinos to the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

Back when casino gambling got started in 1978, there was a requirement that casinos needed at least 500 rooms, and developers had to build new. These smaller, boutique casinos can now have as little as 200 rooms and can occupy older construction.

The 330 room Chelsea Hotel could be one of the first to jump on this new rule. Chelsea owner; Curtis Bashaw, thinks the Chelsea would be an ideal spot for one of the city’s first boutique casinos.
