Listen to ‘Frank Talk’ with King Arthur Radio from May 26, 2018:

Sports leagues want a so-called ‘integrity fee’ for sports betting on their teams. Sports betting & online gaming. Great for the casinos and the State of NJ, but will it revive Atlantic City? Will it help non-casino businesses & AC residents?

Trump Plaza tear down update

POLL: millennials think casinos are depressing. Millenniums not enthusiastic about gaming.

Ocean Resort Casino may start BUS trips to bring in slot players.

Crime. Atlantic Ave and Pacific Ave. Aggressive panhandlers. Even KFC and Taco Bell left town because of issues like these.

Bob McDevitt Local 54 union noted how bad the streets are. Light up the streets. Clean up the streets.

Caesars Casino. At 3 in the afternoon, a female Caesars employee was robbed in the casino parking lot.

Fingers Crossed. Another developer has plans for Atlantic City.

They want to bring a restaurant, outdoor entertainment, hotel rooms and rental units to a beach block in Atlantic City.

Fasano Properties wants to redevelop a portion of the New York Ave beach block. Just steps from the Boardwalk.

The project is planned for 201 S. New York Ave. Site of a strip club.

If things go as planned, the site will be transformed into:

  • a New Orleans-style restaurant called Bourré
  • Live bands
  • Outdoor bar and food court
  • Parking
  • Hotel with 40 rooms
  • 12 apartment units

Fasano wants to get visitors and residents out onto streets of AC. Fasano told the Press of AC that the design of casinos encourage people to stay inside the casino building. That could explain why the Boardwalk was neglected for decades. Mountainous sand dunes that block scenic ocean vistas made the Boardwalk even less appealing.

Fasano can apply for a grant to cover a site contamination assessment for the land. Fasano wants to open the restaurant this summer, planning a July 14 opening.
