Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton used the abandoned Trump Plaza property as a backdrop for her Atlantic City Boardwalk Trump trashing on Wed, July 6.
Clinton landed some heavy blows against Donald Trump and Governor Christie, but also added to the mountain of negative publicity for Atlantic City.
A group of vacationers moaned about their disappointing day on the boards; “local 54 strikers in front of Trump Taj Mahal and roadblocks surrounding Trump Plaza for Clinton’s political attack speech, ugh”.
This hot and steamy noon-time gathering heard stories of Trump Marina, Taj Mahal and the eminent domain battle of Vera Coking. Contractor Marty Rosenberg & State Senator Jim Whelan opened up the festivities. Oddly, Clinton made no mention of the striking Unite Here LOCAL 54, that have been picketing for 6 days straight.
As seen in the Press of Atlantic City , in reference to Clinton’s attack on how Trump treated casino workers:
We always had a contract. He never took away our healthcare, our pension, our wage break. In that regard, I feel he always had our backs,” said Valerie McMorris, 47, a beverage worker at the Taj currently on strike with 1,000 other Local 54 members.
