Beach Concerts Good for Local Business?

Saturday’s Jimmy Buffett concert brought thousands to the beaches of Atlantic City, but did they spend any money with local business? Merchants on the Boardwalk and through-out the city had mixed feelings about the benefits of these fun, yet expensive shows on the beach.

Beach Concerts Good for Local Atlantic City Business?

According to the Press of Atlantic City, shop owners said they saw a slight increase in sales, but not what they expected. Dave Coskey, President of WOND Radio & Longport Media posted his thoughts Boardwalk business owners complaining about the little or no business bump.

Coskey: Seriously? 20,000+ extra people and you didn’t see any bump in business. Maybe the reporter should have asked what they did to attract customers into their businesses.

Press of Atlantic City: Mohammad Khan said business at his One Stop variety store was “good,” but not what he’d hoped. “I got a couple extra customers from it,” Khan said. “Not that many. People mostly asked me where they could find some shade. I told them.”
