One of Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s first legislative acts since he officially became Republican was to sign a ‘discharge’ petition that would force a floor vote on the “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.”
The legislation would require infants who survive attempted abortions to receive medical care.
Brigid Harrison, a candidate running for Congress here in South Jersey, disagrees with that idea.
Harrison, the so-called, ‘Longport Liberal’, doesn’t want any medical care provided to a baby who survives an attempted abortion.
“Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act — would require infants who survive attempted abortions to receive equal medical care and treatment as other newborn babies of equal gestational age.
Any medical provider or staff who intentionally neglects, abandons, or murders a living newborn baby would be punished.
Liberty Counsel Action Chairman Mat Staver said, “Rep. Van Drew’s signature on the discharge petition is a great victory for saving precious children who survive abortions. I thank Rep. Van Drew for signing this petition.
Brigid Harrison is a political science teacher from Montclair State University.
From INSIDER NJ > a quote from Harrison:
One week after switching parties and selling himself and our district for Trump money, he is now pushing extreme legislation to restrict a woman’s right to choose. For 20 years, Van Drew told us that he is pro-choice. Now he’s not?Brigid Harrison
Democrats, and those who support Brigid Harrison for Congress, believe the proposed legislation is radical.

Assemblymen Vince Mazzeo and John Armato support & endorse Brigid Callahan Harrison for Congress.
All three now being accused of supporting late term & partial birth abortion.
All three, South Jersey Democrats, now opposing the “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.”
DID YOU KNOW? Under current law, medical professionals in abortion clinics can stand idly by and allow a newborn child to die.
A baby’s right to life does not change because it was born in an abortion clinic instead of a delivery room.
Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) : ‘if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if if that’s what the mother and the family desires, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.’
Refusal to administer care is equivalent to infanticide.
A majority of NJ voters already support legislation to ensure that a baby who survives a failed abortion, should be provided with medical treatment.
