One of Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s first legislative acts since he officially became Republican was to sign a ‘discharge’ petition that would force a floor vote on the “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.”
The legislation would require infants who survive attempted abortions to receive medical care.
Brigid Harrison, a candidate running for Congress here in South Jersey, disagrees with that idea.
Harrison, the so-called, ‘Longport Liberal’, doesn’t want any medical care provided to a baby who survives an attempted abortion.
“Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act — would require infants who survive attempted abortions to receive equal medical care and treatment as other newborn babies of equal gestational age.
Any medical provider or staff who intentionally neglects, abandons, or murders a living newborn baby would be punished.
