VIDEO > Atlantic City Shut Down Press Conference

Atlantic City could hand out IOUs for police, firefighters and public works. That’s if the city eventually shuts down all nonessential city services from April 8 to May 2.

On April 8, we will run out of money; that’s a fact > Mayor Don Guardian.

NJ Governor Christie says Atlantic City’s problems are from years of overspending. Christie will sign two bills – a state takeover and a PILOT bill only if not amended by Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto.

Prieto wants public employee contracts honored after state takeover of Atlantic City. Governor Christie does not agree.

Governor Chris Christie repeated: “If this is not passed and put on my desk in the exact form that it was passed on the Senate, then no action will be taken and Atlantic City will be out of money on April 8.” “If they (Prieto) all want to suck up to the public sector unions for their own political gain, then that’s their choice.”
