Video Tour of Playground Pier 2019, Atlantic City Boardwalk.

At one time, Playground Pier in front of Caesars on the Atlantic City Boardwalk was awesome. That was years ago. Before Bart Blatstein swooped in and snatched the mall and retail contracts. Right from under Caesars nose.

Today, The Playground Pier is a mostly empty, prime property in need of fresh inspiration. A perfectly-located destination that, in our opinion, would thrive once again if fully controlled by Caesars.

Looks about 75% vacant. But, a few EXCELLENT restaurants and retail stores still remain and do fairly well on Playground Pier. Adding to the sparse mix, pop-up craft & art shops occupy a handful of available storefronts.

Hard to believe. Even the always busy APPLE store packed up and left recently. Something APPLE rarely does with their retail locations.

A blast from the past. Back in 2009, The Pier Shops at Caesars was awesome.

Back in 2009, Atlantic City’s newest attraction was a $7 million dollar water, light and sound extravaganza to entertain visitors at The Pier Shops at Caesars. “The Water Show”, was a six-minute multi-sensory presentation, that was free to the public. It ran every hour on the hour.

Located at the ocean end of the pier, the 360-degree fountain show could be enjoyed from all three floors of The Pier. “The Water Show” was a blend of music, sound, and light.

“The Water Show” at The Pier Shops at Caesars, was the world’s largest indoor fountain matrix of 150 individually controlled fountain nozzles, a 19,000 gallon reflecting pool, 179 LED and intelligent lighting fixtures, which create illuminated water effects with infinite color possibilities, and state-of-the-art audio technology.
