Atlantic City Boardwalk Committee Meeting Notes, Oct. 5, 2016

B & B Parking Parking/AC Tram – Tim Boland:

New meter installation began July 15 and was completed August 12. $369,000 was collected in the first three months. All fees are paid by B& B Parking. This included installation, collection and maintenance is ongoing. 55% of money collected goes to the city. $510,000 was collected during 2015.

Increase in revenue is due to all meters working and the enforcement team which is ticketing a lot more. The city is responsible for enforcement. In stalling additional meters on the beach blocks for the city was tabled by City Council. Will be looked into in the future. There are 39 kiosk meters and 415 single meters. Pay by cell is coming. There were some customer user issues with the single spot solar meters, but these seemed to have been resolved.

The tram had 72,000 riders in August. It was the best month since they started. There are 4 double long trams and 5 single trams, but only 5 are used at a time. They run from the Ocean Club to Showboat at the present time. Over $12,000 has been donated to the AC Boys and Girls Club. The contract is up in February so other clubs, groups could be considered. 7 cents of every $2.25 ride and 5 cents of every all day pass go to charity.

ACPD – Captain Chris Kammerman Tourism District Unit

Before the end of the year the unit will be reevaluated and hopefully can be expanded. Currently 30 and would like 20 more so that there could be coverage from 7AM -3p. The captain would like to have more time for on-street training.

State of the art surveillance room is being created and worked on by ACPD. Public Safety and emergency announcements can be done on the Boardwalk screens. So many good things happening…word needs to get out about how safe the Boardwalk is.

Sale pending for Garden Pier.

Operations have shut down. Exhibits have been packed up and stored temporarily. Working on a permanent home in the lobby area of Boardwalk Hall and West Wing after all the construction work is complete in the hall. They are also looking for other areas for exhibits.
