Was the high volume of live music coming from Borgata’s Festival Park a problem for hotel guests? Maybe. It could certainly be a contributing factor in Borgata’s plan to replace the outdoor band venue with a swimming complex. To be sure, a pool complex could certainly be a more profitable use of that land adjacent to the Borgata surface parking lot.
This new Atlantic City attraction from Borgata could compete directly with The Pool indoor club at Harrahs.
Festival Park had a 5000-person capacity for summer shows like The Killers and Willie Nelson. The stage has already been taken down.
Borgata VP Joe Lupo wants a 3,200 square-foot outdoor swimming pool complete with DJ booth, cabanas and food & beverage service. Lupo wants it open for Summer 2016.
Approval must first come from the CRDA, which manages the Atlantic City Tourism District.
