Café 2825 on Atlantic Ave has the power to pull you off the Atlantic City Boardwalk. It’s that good.

Al Parinello says: There’s a general feeling that you have to eat in a casino hotel to enjoy a great meal. Not true. In fact, my recent visit to Cafe 2825 (not too far from Tropicana) I enjoyed really good Italian food with innovative combinations, great service in a very friendly atmosphere. You’ll be greeted like you’re part of the family and if you’re lucky enough to meet Joe, the proprietor, you may even learn some recipe secrets.

My favorite meal is the Chicken Parmesan Fra Diablo with seeded peppers cooked brilliantly into every bite. I’ve never tasted anything like it. I don’t use the word “PERFECT” very often. But, that’s the only word to describe this taste sensation. The wine list is exceptional and Joe and his staff have great knowledge of what’s in stock, although it tends to be on the high-priced side. My $120 Amarone was amazing and exactly the perfect pairing to our selections.

A family business for over 50 years, Café 2825 in Atlantic City specializes in northern Italian cooking. With roots sprouting from Brooklyn, it all began in one woman’s kitchen where Sicilian and Piedmontese stock combined for a perfect palette.

ZAGAT: A “don’t-miss” option in Atlantic City, this “nice” Italian place offers “good-sized portions” of “delicious home cooking” for “pricey-but-worth-it” tabs (devotees “don’t care what it costs”); since the setup is “small and tight”, “be sure to make reservations” in advance.

How does this sound? Oven Baked Clams with seasoned Italian bread crumbs & romano cheese, Fried Calamari, Eggplant Rollatini, Pesto Marinated Shrimp. Hungry yet? Don’t expect to get a table easily. Call a week in advance if you can.

Visit Café 2825. The Boardwalk will still be there when you get back.
