Jingoli Starts Stockton Project on Former Atlantic City High School Plot

Jingoli Atlantic City
Ready for Stockton

See Pics > A smile came across my face when I saw the new JINGOLI Construction sign on Albany Ave in Atlantic City the other day. While small and easy to miss, this simple signage is a sight for sore eyes.

Ask the average Joe about their thoughts on Atlantic City’s future, and you’ll hear mostly negative, half-baked reports they gleaned from local papers, radio and social media posts. What you’ll not hear much about is the accelerated development and investment of the ‘other Atlantic City’, the one un-burdened by the economy killing antics of local politics. (ex: new seawall & Boardwalk, Poler-Coaster, Steel Pier, Tourism District, Stockton, etc.)

Heavy equipment, mobile offices and JINGOLI Construction signs are now visible on the Albany Ave. site that formerly housed Atlantic City High School. To our un-trained eye, it looks like land prep and pre-construction has begun on this non-gaming project slated for a 2018 completion.

Joseph Jingoli & Son is the general contractor and construction manager. It’s a $206 million development project ok’d by The Atlantic City Development Corp, better known as ACDEVCO.

The non-profit ACDevCo lead by Chris Paladino, selected Jingoli based on their success with construction projects like the Honors College at Rutgers University.

The Lawrenceville-based Jingoli firm will oversee construction of the Stockton University satellite campus is the Chelsea section of Atlantic City.

This so-called Atlantic City Gateway project will also be the new headquarters for South Jersey Gas, and an 879-space parking garage.

Let’s not focus on stuff like this: the municipal mess known as Atlantic City politics and budget mis-management. Rather, let’s celebrate the small but growing handful that are busy rebuilding the a new Atlantic City…..one that relies less on gaming and casinos.
