Time for the Atlantic City Mayor, council and others to take a 20% haircut. That’s what 3rd ward City Councilman Kaleem Shabazz says.
A resolution sponsored by Shabazz will be introduced at the May 4, Atlantic City council meeting. It would cut the pay of council members, the city clerk, the Mayor and the council attorney by 20 percent.
Shabazz wants Mayor Don Guardian to reduce his $103,000 annual salary. He also wants all nine council members to take pay cuts.
Atlantic City Council President Marty Small reported that the majority of council doesn’t support it.
