Philadelphia Business Journal: Stockton University filed a complaint against Caesars over the school’s $18 million purchase of the former Showboat casino. Stockton is asserting claims for damages that arose in the university’s Dec. 12 purchase of the former Showboat, the result of a 1988 legal covenant enforced by Trump Taj Mahal prohibiting the property to reopen as anything other than a casino-hotel.

Stockton’s claims against Caesars include:

  • Breach of contract
  • Breach of express representations, warranties and covenants
  • Fraud in the inducement and/or execution
  • Fraud in the performance
  • Intentional or negligent misrepresentations
  • Fraudulent, intentional and negligent concealment of material facts
