Philadelphia Business Journal: Stockton University filed a complaint against Caesars over the school’s $18 million purchase of the former Showboat casino. Stockton is asserting claims for damages that arose in the university’s Dec. 12 purchase of the former Showboat, the result of a 1988 legal covenant enforced by Trump Taj Mahal prohibiting the property to reopen as anything other than a casino-hotel.
Stockton’s claims against Caesars include:
- Breach of contract
- Breach of express representations, warranties and covenants
- Fraud in the inducement and/or execution
- Fraud in the performance
- Intentional or negligent misrepresentations
- Fraudulent, intentional and negligent concealment of material facts
- Unjust enrichment and unclean hands
