Record breaking crowds on the Atlantic City Boardwalk for the Miss America 2018 ‘Show Us Your Shoes’ parade.
51 Miss America contestants were escorted via classic cars to display their wild footwear. Legendary Miss Americas, elaborate floats, marching bands, local organizations and other community groups added to the fun.
Atlantic City Show Us Your Shoes Parade. One of the most popular and beloved traditions in Miss America Pageant history.
The exact origin? Some think it was in the 1970s. Individuals on a hotel balcony overlooking the parade route noticed that some of the contestants riding in the convertibles wore casual footwear or no footwear at all. “Show us your shoes” started as a teasing refrain and quickly caught on. Contestants wear anything from army boots to ski boots, flip flops to swim fins, bunny slippers to designer shoes.
