Old Glory to Fly at Lucy the Elephant in Margate

Lucy the elephant margate ventnorThe City of Margate has graciously installed a 35′ flagpole at the site of their most famous resident, Lucy the Elephant.

Old Glory will be raised for the first time at Lucy on Friday, June 12th at 10:45am.

“Although the park is adorned with 18 smaller American flags, we have long wanted a flagpole tall enough to properly honor our National Historic Landmark” said Lucy’s Executive Director, Rich Helfant.

“Flying a 6′ x 10′ American flag is a fitting tribute to Lucy, the World’s Largest Elephant and America’s oldest roadside attraction”.

All of us at Lucy are grateful to the City of Margate for this most patriotic gesture

Lucy is currently operating on her spring schedule. Summer hours; 10am to 8 pm, Monday thru Saturday; and 10am to 5pm Sundays begin on June 15th.
