Amazing turnout for the Chickie’s & Pete’s 5k Boardwalk Run in Atlantic City on Saturday morning, August 22. The race kicked-off in front of the Tropicana Casino at 8a.
Pete Ciarrocchi; owner of Chickie’s & Pete’s, along with his family, greeted runners as they happily crossed the finish line. Pete’s two sons ran in the race as well.
The pre-race stretch & warm-up was lead by Coach Mindy of The Running Center.
After the run, participants enjoyed live music, a beach beer garden and some of those world famous crab fries. A portion of the Chickie’s & Pete’s 5k Boardwalk Run proceeds benefit The Archway Schools.

- In 1977, Peter and Henrietta ‘Chickie’ Ciarrocchi (Pete’s mom & dad) opened a small bar in the Mayfair section of northeast Philadelphia. When Pete Sr. passed away, Pete Jr. was encouraged by his mom to ‘get creative’ with the tiny Robbins Ave. taproom. From there, started the well-respected collection of menu items & locations that we all know today.
