When Sharon Franz isn’t juggling a variety of Steel Pier marketing projects, she’s busy with her presidential duties at the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association.

It’s an extra busy week for Sharon as she preps to welcome hundreds of travel-industry professionals to Atlantic City on Thursday & Friday, March 3 & 4, 2016 for the annual New Jersey Conference on Tourism.

This year, the event will be held at Resorts Casino Hotel on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, inside their new 15,000 square feet of convention space which opened last summer.

FROM NJTV: Tourism is a bright spot in a state still lagging the nation in recovering from the Great Recession, growing almost 4 percent last year. It generated some 316,000 new jobs and brought in more than $42 billion. The New Jersey Division of Tourism and Travel study demonstrates a strong tourism economy despite the loss of four casinos. President of the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association and Marketing Director for Steel Pier in Atlantic City Sharon Franz spoke with NJTV News Anchor Mary Alice Williams about what this summer season holds for New Jersey.
